Are You Rooted in a Version of Reality You Don’t Even Like or Want?

We hear a lot about the importance of being “grounded,” but what if the very thing keeping you grounded is also keeping you stuck? What if your roots are so deeply embedded in a reality that drains you—one you don’t even like, enjoy, or want—that you’ve lost sight of the possibility of anything else?

Think about it: Do you feel like you’re stuck in the mud, so weighed down by the density of your current existence that you can’t seem to wiggle your way up to higher ground? Does the idea of believing in something better feel like an impossible stretch—like it exists in some otherworldly realm, just out of reach?

If so, you’re not alone. A lot of people aren’t just settling for a life they’re "okay" with—they’re planting firm roots into a reality they don’t even like or enjoy, one that keeps them stuck or trapped in a life experience and ways of being they don’t prefer. We attach ourselves to the familiar, even when it’s uncomfortable, even when it doesn’t align with who we truly are or what we actually desire. We convince ourselves that change is hard, that it’s unrealistic to dream too big, and that we need to accept “what is” rather than hope for “what could be.”

But is that really the kind of grounding we want? Is this what you truly want to be rooted in?

Roots can go deep, but they can also expand, stretch, and grow new life. The choice is ours—to stay anchored in a reality that no longer nourishes us, or to allow ourselves to expand into a life that feels more aligned with our heart, spirit, and soul. Growth is not just about where we are planted, but also about the environment we cultivate within and around us. Just as plants require the right soil, sunlight, and water to thrive, we too need the right conditions—energetically, emotionally, and spiritually—to truly flourish. This isn’t just about individual well-being but about the collective health, growth, and expansion of humanity as a whole.

We can be grateful for what we have and still desire more. Gratitude and expansion are not mutually exclusive. You can appreciate the lessons, the stability, and even the comfort of your current reality while still knowing, deep within, that you are not where you are meant to be. Many people suppress that knowing out of fear that it makes them ungrateful—but recognizing a desire for change doesn’t mean you lack appreciation. It simply means your soul is calling you toward something more aligned, more fulfilling, more true to who you are becoming.

This is not about striving for more out of dissatisfaction or believing happiness lies in external achievements. It’s about honoring the deep, intuitive knowing that you are meant for something different. It takes courage to get radically honest with yourself—to acknowledge when you’ve outgrown a version of your life, to release what no longer aligns, and to trust that in letting go, you create space for what you truly desire to unfold.

To claim the reality your heart, spirit, and soul know you are meant to experience.

To step into the unknown for a feeling, a calling, a knowing that only you can sense—one that may not make logical sense in the moment but is guiding you toward something greater.

For many, the challenge isn’t just the fear of change—it’s the fear of how that change might affect others. How often do we sacrifice our happiness, desires, or true calling for the sake of keeping the peace, avoiding disappointment, or meeting expectations? How many of us stay rooted in realities that don’t fulfill us because we’re afraid of upsetting or hurting someone else? But shouldn’t we all get to experience a version of reality that makes us truly happy, healthy, whole, and fulfilled? Isn’t that what true harmony looks like—not sacrificing ourselves for others, but creating a life where we all thrive?

If you feel like your energy is too dense, too heavy, too stuck to move toward something lighter, start by questioning what you’re rooted in. Are you grounded in fear? In lack? In outdated beliefs that say life can only be one way? Or are you grounded in the truth that energy is fluid, that change is possible, and that your reality is not set in stone?

Maybe it’s time to unroot from what keeps you small. Maybe it’s time to let yourself rise.

What would it feel like to stand in a reality that feels good—one where you wake up excited about your life, where you feel deeply connected, supported, and aligned? Can you imagine it? Can you lean into the possibility that it already exists, waiting for you to step into it?

Because the moment you believe you can, you’re already halfway there.
